26-year old American forward Miles Gibson (198-F-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Manawatu Jets and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
He had a double-double of 32 points and 17 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Panthers (#11, 0-3) with 45-point margin 122-77. Jets is placed at 4th position in New Zealand league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Jets will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Gibson had a remarkable 53.3% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Jets, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Binghamton University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Gibson is in league's top in points (7th best: 24.3ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.0rpg) and averages solid 52.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Donald Carey (196-G-1999) of Otago Nuggets. He is American guard in his first season at Nuggets. In the last game Carey recorded an impressive 34 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Nuggets cruised to a 93-86 relatively comfortable win over Hawks (3-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Carey is one of the most experienced players at Nuggets and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.5ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 5.0rpg and 3.5apg.

Third place about best performers goes to Carlin Davison (197-SF-2003) of Taranaki Airs (#6). Davison showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Airs, leading his team to a 102-79 easy win against Tuatara (#12, 0-3). Airs needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Davison has a great season in New Zealand. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 28.3ppg (4th best).
